Some 30 or so years ago, i met the perfect family and they remain close to my heart even now.

Two of the most inspirational teachers and their delightful 13 year old son. Gareth, Jill and Jonathan.  Our friendship grew and blossomed and every moment spent in their company was a joy.  Listening to their tales of their travels; stories of their family; Jill’s little book of every special day; her tiny coffee cup in the staff room; and their ever visible love for each other.  

Jill’s premature passing left a void that never healed.  But life went on.  Jonathan followed his dreams and Gareth remained at Sandown doing what he was best at. Mentoring young minds, and guiding those that needed more understanding.

There are so many memories of school life with Gareth, but the one that will stay with me always will be Gareth’s hugs.  They were the best and I will treasure every single one.

Reunited with your beautiful Jilly.  You are so loved and will be greatly missed. God bless you and thank you for coming to the Isle of Wight xxx
