Thoughts

I think of you as my guru of family life, my teacher of ethics and secret smoking and I will miss your chuckles and chats. You always gave different perspectives on worries, thoughtful advice, loving hugs and quips to put a smile back on your face. Your life in so many fascinating countries inspired me, as did your teaching and most importantly the way you and Gill unequivically showed your love to your children and put them first. I will miss you yet so many things remind me of you, from swimming to sheeshas, that you will never be far away.

Grandpa gave so much to me. He gave so much to all of us. Whether it was stories, or songs, or gifts, or knowledge, or much too much money to mow his lawn, or pieces of advice, or hugs, or love, he just gave and gave and gave. I miss you, Grandpa, and I’ll always miss you. But I’ll also be eternally grateful. Without everything you gave me, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

To my very special father in law who was so much a part of my life. You were such a kind and caring man who so loved being with the family. I will always miss our Sunday night suppers where I used to love trying out new recipes on you especially vegetarian ones without telling you! And I miss seeing Nala waiting patiently for you at the front door every Sunday at 6.30pm. She was so excited to see you and eat her gravy bone! Rest in peace with your beloved Gill XXXX
